Roof removals are routinely scheduled in the morning and early afternoon. Generally, a minimum of 3-4 team members will be on site to complete a roof removal. The team will arrive and place a dump trailer at the location of the replacement.
Before beginning the tear-off process, our team moves any outdoor furniture or decor and places heavy duty tarps below the roof perimeter, in efforts of covering the driveway and landscaping. Members of our team then use ‘shingle shovels’ to remove the existing roofing material, and carefully dispose of it in the dump trailer.
We always thoroughly inspect to foresee the amount of decking that may be water damaged and need replaced before a total replacement project. However, damaged plywood can oftentimes be hidden by the existing roofing material and not observed until that roofing is removed during the tear off process. JP Contractors INC replaces all unserviceable decking with new decking to match existing and restore a solid roof base, ensuring the new roof is up to code.
Step 4: Roof Installation and Quality Assurance
Following the roof removal and roof decking repairs, The install team will begin to mechanically fasten the underlayment material to the roof decking. Once the underlayment material is installed, the team will begin to fasten the selected material onto the underlayment. The team will also install/replace any accessories removed during the tear-off process.
